How to Prevent Thinning Hair

Most people don’t think about their scalp until their hair starts to thin or fall out. Such was the case with my partner of many years, whose hair started to thin a couple of years ago. When I noticed the thinning, I went out to the store and bought him Rogaine and a few other products that promised to help his hair grow back. But, after several months of using the products he had not shown any improvement whatsoever. I decided at this point to do some research on hair loss and apply my knowledge of cosmetic chemistry create a solution myself. This is what I learned, which led to the development of Vasseur Skincare’s Hair Raiser treatment:

Your scalp has pores just like your skin, and like the skin, the pores can get clogged and congested. The primary cause of clogged hair follicles is sebum, an oily secretion produced by the skin’s sebaceous glands. Sebum deposits a coat around the hair follicles, then travels through the pores of the follicles, and eventually reaches the outer surface of the skin. Here, it encounters lipids and sweat. As a result, a fine coat–referred to as an acid mantle–is formed. This coat is responsible for clogged hair follicles that can thin your hair and cause it to stop growing completely over time.

Yet most of us use heavy shampoos and conditioners every day that clog our pores without realizing it. This is especially true of inexpensive drug store shampoos that contain acrylics, plastics and sulfates (these products are cheap for a reason!). So, the first two steps to prevent hair loss are to

1) Ensure your shampoos and conditioners are sulfate free, and

2) Only apply hair products to the middle and ends of your hair – not the scalp!

The next step is to prevent pore buildup in the scalp. We developed our hair raiser treatment after extensive research on the best natural ingredients that help to unclog pores in the scalp and encourage new hair growth, namely azelaic acid and salicylic acid. We source the best and most highly potent active ingredients for our treatment- which has been proven to show results in just 30 days (see photos below). I tested this product on my partner and several others before going to market and it worked wonders. So, if you know that you or your significant other is prone to hair loss genetically, be proactive and take care of the scalp BEFORE symptoms develop!
