Today I’m sharing the BEST, most MIND-BLOWING cleaning hacks. There are quite a few professional cleaners and housekeepers who are blowing up over on TicTok and have the best advice because this is what they do for a living. They know what works! Included are the top tips and tricks from professional cleaners and housekeepers on TikTok and #CleanTok. I watch TikTok so that you don’t have to. Here are the twelve (plus!) cleaning tips you want to know and use.

1 Use a Swiffer to clean your mirrors and glass.
Get cleaning your mirrors and glass done quickly and more efficiently with a Swiffer. Cover the pad with your glass cleaning cloth and swipe from the top to the bottom.
There is a lot less reaching involved in using a Swiffer. For me, this is a game-changer.

2 Glass cleaning cloths
Instead of using a Swiffer pad, you’ll want to use your glass cleaning cloth (rather than a microfiber cloth) to leave a streak-free, no-streak shine.

3 The best glass cleaner
Multiple professional cleaners I follow on TikTok swear by this particular brand of glass cleaner.
Who wouldn’t want to try a top-rated product like this? It’s a foam-style spray that I personally use to clean my mirrors and glass. It works amazingly well.

4 How to remove the Swiffer cap to refill the cleaning solution
Personally, I don’t care for the Swiffer cleaner. I hate how it smells and it doesn’t work that well to clean, so I use the first bottle and then remove the cap and refill the solution with my own homemade concoction. Here’s how to remove it:
a. Submerge the cap in boiling water for 5 minutes to loosen it.
b. Using rubber gloves, remove the lid (I had to have Ryan do this!)
c. Use nail clippers to cut off the little locking tabs inside the cap.
d. Now you can refill the old bottle with the cleaning solution of your choice!
5 How to “Laundry Strip”
First, what is laundry stripping? (No, Ryan, not stripping stripping… it’s deep-cleaning your laundry!) Laundry stripping is going viral over on TikTok.
If you have a build-up of laundry soap, body odor, grease or grime, just extra dirty clothes in general, you need to strip them. It’s an even deeper clean than washing them in the machine.
a. Fill your tub with hot, hot water (piping hot!)
b. Add 1/4 cup baking soda, 1/4 cup borax, and one heaping scoop of powdered tide
(Optional: 1/4 cup Calgon water softener)
c. Mix
d. Add clothing, towels, or whatever items you’re stripping
e. Stir with a wooden or plastic spoon every 1-2 hours – for 4-6 hours
f. Wring out clothes, and
g. Wash these clothes in a normal wash cycle in your washing machine
You’re left with your deep-cleaned, fully stripped down, good as new items.
6 Wall cleaning brush
This is by far the most viral cleaning tip on TikTok – over 50 million views! This is this specialty wall cleaning brush – the best cleaning tool ever.
It has a swivel pad which makes it easy to glide up and down. It’s perfect for painted walls and doors.

7 Wall cleaning spray
Of course, you have to have the spray to go along with the brush to clean your walls.
You just spray your grimy walls with the cleaning spray and then erase away all of it by brushing over the area. You won’t believe what a great job this did on my walls, especially the hallways.

8 Garbage disposal cleaning hack
There are a million different suggestions out there about how to clean your garbage disposal. This TikTok hack is supposed to be the easiest and most effective:
a. Pour 2 cups of baking soda down the drain. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes.
b. Pour in distilled white vinegar. Let it sizzle up.
c. Get a full pot of boiling hot water and dump that down the sink
The sink essentially cleans itself.
9. Pillowcases too big for your pillow?
If you have any pillows in the house and the pillowcases are too big, here’s the hack for that.
a. Take the overhang, pinch the middle (where the end of the pillow is), and pull that upwards
b. Tuck the overhang into the pillow
c. Take your hands and smooth it over
No more floppy overhang.
10. Professional “extra touches” for the bathroom
a. To give your house that extra touch like the professionals, clean your stainless steel fixtures first, and then use your glass cleaner to polish them.
You won’t want to leave this step out. That polishing gives your knobs and fixtures that extra little sparkle and glisten.

b. Don’t forget that “extra” for the toilet paper rolls! Just like in a nice hotel, you want to fold the corners over into a point.
Turn your sink faucet on and then turn it off again and immediately push the tip of that folded point up into the faucet. It gives it a ‘stamped’ look.
Such a neat little added touch especially for your guest bathroom or extra toilet paper rolls if you have them out on display.
12 Clean the grill on your stovetop
Desi Hacks says the best way to clean the grill of your stove top (which can be really tough to clean) is to use a mixure of:
- Vegetable oil
- Kosher Salt
Scrub, scrub, scrub it and it’ll not only come off, but it’ll be nice and shiny, just like new again.

13 My Ultra Favorite Grout Pin
Now, a favorite housecleaner that I follow suggests using Scrubbing Bubbles Power Stain Destroyer in your grout lines. Just squeeze the green liquid along your grout lines, let it sit there and soak for awhile, and then clean it off. It’s supposed to sparkle and shine and be nice and bright again.
When I tried this, it definitely lightened the grout, but it was still stained. So, I’m recommending my all-time favorite Grout Pen. I’ve told you about this before. You just draw in on the grout lines, wipe off the excess, and it will be perfectly white.

14. Three overall strategies to clean your house
a. Clean top to bottom always
b. Start in the back of the room and make your way to the front
c. When vacuuming:
- Have a CLEAN vacuum – that’s going to have the best suction power
- Start from the back to the front
- First go vertically across the room and then vacuum horizontally.
- Go SLOWER than you would think you need to go. Most people go too fast. The slower you go, the more you’re going to pick up.
